Hi Everyone!
.

.
I saw it, I loved the print…but what to do with it??? A beautiful, well made, cotton skirt. I took it in and out of my stash until it came to me. It was perfect for a decorative tank top. All I had to do was release the waistband, cut, and sew!
.

.
Step 1) Release the waistband and get rid of the lace on the bottom. I didn’t like that it was gathered.

.
Step 2) I laid out my basic tank pattern and cut the front and back

.
Step 3) I sewed up the side seams and the shoulder seams but…what to do with the neckline and armhole. Top stitching was too simple.

.
The answer was matching bias trim of course!

.

.
The armholes got the same treatment and I am ready to go! I love the botanical print here!

Thanks Mary. I love that refashion. Great tutorial also. Thanks for sharing.
You are most welcome Betty! Welcome to my blog and have a wonderful refashioned day!
I love it!! I want to make one just like it!! Thanks for the motivation starter….I needed this 🙂
Thanks Terri! That is what I am here for! I would love to see what you come up with. Feel free to share!
I love that you included the waistband and trim.
Hi Betty! thanks! When I refashion something I always try to use the work that is already in the garment to it’s fullest potential!
Have a great day!
I love it too! Thanks for sharing.
Hello Margie! You are ever so welcome! Thank you for your comments!
This is just lovely, great repurpose of a skirt with such a wonderful design. Looks good n you.
Hi there Denise! Thank you so much! I love it that you comment regularly and value your opinion. Have a great one!
What a beautiful top! I just love it! It is a timeless tank top pattern with very flattering colors. It looks great on you!
Thank you Sarah! It is so jean friendly too!
It will be perfect for summer!
Fabulous! Did you use your tshirt/tunic pattern minus the sleeves, or do you use a separate pattern for tank tops?
Hi Judy!
It is indeed my tunic pattern without the sleeves! Great eye!
That is great to know! I have been meaning to make a tunic pattern for myself, but I figured I’d need to cut it differently for a tank. I’m amazed at how different it looks sleeveless! Your refasions are fantastic…thank you so much.
Hi Judy,
Yes I will use the same pattern but I always tweek it a bit during fittings to accommodate
for different types of fabrics. Let me know if you have any more questions!
The tank top turned out beautifully! I’ve missed your posts, so it was good to see one come out. Thanks for all your inspiration and keep it coming!
Hi Georgie!
I will! Summer is coming so I will have more time. Things have been a bit crazy for me over the last year. I still love what I do!
