Hello Everyone!
.
As I promised, here are a few highlights from my “Alaskan Summer.”
My brother lives in Anchorage so accommodations were homey and comfortable! It was great to catch up and get to know everyone again!
The temperature was comfortable, even hot at times, but not too hot or cold. That is just the way I like it.

.
Unbelievable sights everywhere you turned.

.
This view on the way to rafting on the Kenai River.

.
Rafting was a new and fun experience for me. Here is my not so glamorous ready to board selfie!

Gorgeous sights along the river trip.

Speaking of new experiences… I got to shoot at the shooting range for the first time! See how I “Refashioned” LOL! this shooting target here.

.
I saw so many bald eagles in the trees and forests it was unbeleivable. I only got a shot of this one as it is in captivity because it is injured and unable to fly. Moose roam freely (some even crossed out path while we were driving!) I was even able to spy some mountain goats and a bear, albeit from afar.
.

.
Fields of wild flowers EVERYWHERE! Alaskans also love to plant and grow flowers in their yards too. So many gorgeous flower boxes and gardens to see.

.
Here is a selfie with my most favorite brother in the world (named Steve) Thank you for having me little brother! (No denying our sibling relationship…)

Oh wow! That’s where I live. 🙂 So happy you had a great trip. It was a beautiful summer this year, the weather was perfect, and it started quite early. Looks like you had fun.
The pink wildflowers you have pictured are called Fireweed. When the blooms reach the top of the plant, it’s a signal that summer is coming to a close. 🙂
How cool Kelly! If I get to go back I will post it and maybe we can meet for coffee 🙂
HI Mary,
That would be lots of fun. It would be neat to see all your creations in person. I have been really inspired by all the things you have made.
Has your brother told you about Fur Rondy? It’s a big festival here that happens at the end of Feb every year. There are all sorts of events. Here is a link… http://www.furrondy.net
Hi Kelly,
I live in SoCal so if we ever met you would only get to see the creation I am wearing HA HA! But… If and when I go back I will let you know!
What a beautiful place and it sounds like a wonderful visit. Your great-niece is adorable in that clip 🙂 I love the hands up at the end!
Isn’t she just the cutest? I am prejudice of course!
