No Sew Makeover

June 17, 2015 By Mary Peterson 8 Comments

Hi Everyone!

.

OK! I have been out of the loop for a while but I can explain…Work/Crazy, two kids in college/Nuts! Taking on a second job/INSANE! Need I say more??? Well, it is now summer. I am only working 10 hours a week for summer school, so it is time to catch up!

.

Here is my latest makeover in full view! A cute little top for summer. Only $3.50 from Goodwill and in perfect condition…except for the tight sleeves and elastic that was too tight around the empire waistline , but looking at it now you would never know!

Here is the original sleeve which I had a hard time getting over my biceps. I don’t know about you but I absolutely HATE puff sleeves that cut at the fullest part of my bicep. I love flutter sleeves so here is the fix!

.

Step 1) Cut off the offending strings across the back.

.

Cut the binding off of the sleeve. Don’t worry! Because it is an knit it will not unravel. No sewing necessary! All I had to do is snip the elastic across the back to relax the gathers and I was ready to go!

The sleeve has been freed from its prison and is much more relaxed!

’til Later..

Love ya!

Love the sleeves. I agree with you a puff sleeve doesn’t favour anyone!
