Hi Everyone!
.
I had a circular piece of a tablecloth left over from this prior project:
.

.
This is what came out of it!!!!
Front

.
Side

.
Back

I swear I put that piece of crochet on the floor and over the dress form sooooo many times until the answer finally hit me! Here is how I did it!
Step 1) First I draped the circle over the form and determined where I wanted the armholes.

.
This is how it looked while on the floor. I had to be sure the armholes were cut evenly

.
Here is a picture of the cowl drape of the back neck.

.
Here it is ready to crochet the edges!

.

.
.
While it was on the form I crocheted around the neckline, armholes and all of the edges of the collar to create a finished look!
.
Add an antique button and crochet a loop and I was done!

Nice tutorial, Mary. Easy to understand and great pictures too. I appreciate that you photographed all of the angles; makes it easier to comprehend the procedure and to visualize the finished product in order to see if it would be flattering on me too 🙂
Thank you Mother Deer! Always good to hear from you!
I really liked this one. I’d have to get help with the crocheting.
Thank you Marlene!
Crochet is so easy If I were there I could give you lessons!
Wow, so pretty. Everyone usually makes skirts from tablecloths. This is so special and more creative.
Thanks Kitty, I am trying to think outside the expected! Glad you like it!
I love the vest but also really like the the little jacket/shrug. Going to look for that tutorial too. Appreciate the pictures and the clear instructions.
Hi Karen, You are very welcome!
Amazing, very clever!
Thank you so much! Glad you like it and welcome to my creative madness!
Wow! This is AMAZING. How clever are you?
Barbara
Hi Barbara! I do strive to do new things. Sometimes it takes awhile but the ideas do come!
Omgosh, Mary! That us so adorable! Especially on you! You remind me if my mom. She was so creative with sewing among so many other crafty things! She said her Mom was their villages’ seamstress.people would
bring their old clothing in exchange for something she would make new. She then would make her children clothes from the clothes they gave her. She also turned a sofa into a sofa bed. I found her to be an interesting lady.one I never had the chance to meet. You go girl. Keep on doing what you do!
Thanks Cynthia! What a wonderful story! Where was your grandmother from??? I will keep on going. Have a lot of things in the works! Mary
Great to see all of the beautiful lace used and 2 new garments!!! Always enjoy seeing what you are making. Anxious to see progress on the jacket.
Hi Donna!
Thank you!
I am anxious too! LOL! It I bit off a little more than I could chew on that darn jacket. But as I promised it will be done before it turns cold for me!
I love your creative mind!
Hi Jo!
Thank you so much! I was pretty proud of this one!
This is a beautiful and elegant refashion! Thanks for showing us how you did it.
Hey Georgie!
Thank you! It was surprisingly easy once I figured out what I wanted to do!
Thanks for this Mary. You’ve made me want to look at my stash of old lace and other textile to see if I night be able to do this with an embroidered circular table cloth. I’ll do a toile first and mark up the embroidery placement to see how it goes.
Thanks for the inspiration. I shall be fa firm follower.
Thanks so much Suella! I am so glad you enjoyed this and will be following!
