I just have time for a quick stop today to share one of my favorite t-shirt hacks. I tend to do projects like the following with brand new shirts purchased for under $10 in places like Target, Kohls, or Old Navy. Sometimes I will purchase T’s from a thrift shop but only if they are obviously unused. The reasoning behind this is that T-Shirts tend to degrade very quickly and I have had very poor luck finding any in good enough condition to use.
This is just a classic white T-shirt purchased from Old Navy for $8. I was in possession of 1/4 yard of a white embroidered woven piece that would work quite nicely in my plan to create a decorative stripe down the center. Here you can see I have marked the cutting lines.
The next step was to sew the panels in.
In order to make the finished product more polished, I added some edgestitch on the panel edges.
