Hello Everyone,
Today I have a new denim jacket refashion! What a surprise right? It is very simple but very “Me.” It all started with a well made jean jacket without any trim. I paid $14.99 for it which is fairly standard of denim jackets here in Southern CA thrift shops. The other frumpy old jacket was a cool tapestry pattern with leopard trim. You can see it peeking on the cuffs and placket.

Hope you like this one. I still have much more in store to share. Another school year has started and I was a busy sewer this summer. Stay tuned for my next release. Until then I would love to know what you think. Talk to me!!!
Happy Refashioning!

You have great taste with your redesign!!
Thank you so much Janet! I have so much fun with this stuff!
Love it, Mary! So cute.
Thanks Allison, It feels so good when people notice my stuff and I can say, “I made it!” Hope your summer was wonderful!
Stunning 🤩
Ann,
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!
Love it! I would not personally wear it, maybe too shy but it’s fantastic on you! Can I ask, just curious, about the decision to not do something with the cuffs as well? I like it but am no artist about decisions and I expect you thought about it and decided one way or the other on purpose. Thx.
Hello R Wind,
I actually did think about putting the leopard print on the cuffs but I typically roll up my sleeves several times when I wear a denim jacket. It would kind of be a waste of time for me. If I was selling it I might think more of doing that. Thanks for your question. MAry
Very cute, I’ve done several Jean jackets also. There is no limit on the possibilities! Love your
work.
Hello Betty,
Thanks so much. I love what I do and love to share it with others! Mary
Did you stitch the tapestry back onto the jeans back by machine? How did you measure it for size? The frumpy jacket got a great second chance here!
Hi Ruth,
Yes, I cut the back to fit, adding a turn under about a half an inch of fabric, and edgestitch it to the jacket by machine. I agree about the frumpy jacket! I love to save them!!! Mary
I always look forward to your refashions! I love this one & it just so happens I am looking to refashion and old denim jacket that my brother gave me. Thanks for the inspiration! It looks great on you!
Hi Maureen,
Thank you! And I look forward to hearing from you! I am glad I helped to inspire you. That is why I do this.
Thanks,
Mary
