Hi Everyone!
.
I can't believe I haven't posted since August and Thanksgiving is near! This new school year has me tied up in knots with all of the new training and work to be done, but I have a quick offering for you. It was meant to be my week 4 offering for Refashion Runway but, alas I was eliminated at week 3! Sniff! No worries though, I had a great time and love the competition!!!
.
I love it when I find a maxi with a great pattern and this is a perfect example. It was a size 4 so it was way too small to wear as is, but at the same time a great source of fabric for a border print junkie like me! I simply used my sleeveless tunic pattern and added black bias on the neck and sleeves. I have been getting so much use out of it!

I would love to hear from you! See you soon and happy refashioning...

I’m really inspired by this refashion. Will be searching for border prints in my thrift store trips. Thank you

You are very welcome Suella! Glad you are enjoying my blog!
Is that a stretch fabric or something that will wrinkle? I am so lazy! I hate having to iron anything.
Hi Jody,
No ironing for me…it is a beautiful knit!
Mary…that is a beautiful remake. Love what you did. Makes me want to go find some border print garment and refashion it too!
Thank you so much! Glad you approve! I had fun doing it!
Hi Mary,
Great find. You made a beautiful top!
Thank you so much Terry!
Love it, and all you entries in Refashion Runway.
Awww! Thanks Denise! Glad you like my blog!
I love everything you do and eagerly await each post!
Do you have your basic sleeveless top and T-shirt patterns for sale. I love the simple lines. I sew but have not been brave enough to try drawing my own patterns!
Thank you Lynne, Here is the tip. I find a garment in the thrift shop that fits well, take it apart, and it becomes my pattern!!!! It is easy! Try it!
That is such a clever refashion. I will keep looking for some maxi dresses, but couldn’t find any on my last thrift shopping trip. Looking forward to your next post!
Keep Looking Georgie! You will find it!
Just looked through many of your posts, and I think you are adorable and your work is brilliant. Its really great of you to share your creations from start to finish and I can tell you are an artist at heart! I am fairly new to ‘upcycling’/refashioning and I love wearing an original that I created from someone’s cast offs. I will bookmark your site! Keep creating!
Thank you so much K! Glad to hear you enjoy it. That is why I am here. I will keep creating!
I just set up my sewing machine after many years. Now I know why!! This quick morph is genius. Thank you for the inspiration!
Maxi dresses are the BEST source of fabric for sewing these days 🙂
Hi Jody,
I have to agree with you here. Also, I look for garments size xl and above for fabric too!
Wow…you are a clever one. That is stunning!
I love it – am inspired to try this re-make.
Hey Yvonne! Thanks so much. I have been wearing the heck out of it!
